🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Jurmala + Jomas iela and Majori Beach (adjustment)

  • 🏁 After landing in Riga and transferring to Jurmala, allow about 35–60 minutes to reach the resort by taxi/transfer, including baggage claim and leaving the airport. After check-in, don’t overload your first day: walk along Jomas iela — the resort’s main promenade artery, where wooden villas, cafés, the resort rhythm, and light seaside elegance create the right vacation feeling from the very first hours.

  • 🌊 In the evening, head out to Majori Beach. The Baltic Sea here is not about a “hot south,” but about breathing, space, and the nervous system: a long stretch of pale sand, the even sound of the surf, and the scent of pine from the dunes. A 40–60 minute walk at a calm pace is perfect for gentle acclimatization after the journey.

Day 2 — Dzintari Forest Park + observation tower + the Dzintari concert district

  • 🌲 Dedicate the morning to Dzintari Forest Park — it is one of the most convenient parks in Jurmala for a wellness rhythm: flat paths, pine trees, shade, fresh air, and the chance to walk for 60–90 minutes without the feeling of urban strain. The ideal format for the day is to head out after breakfast and walk at a “conversation pace,” leaving room for your body not for records, but for recovery.

  • 🗼 Climb the observation tower in Dzintari and then slowly shift your focus to the concert district by Dzintari Concert Hall. Here you get a combination that is very typical of Jurmala: architecture, dunes, greenery, and cultural resort charm without haste. It is usually easy to walk from the park to the concert hall in 10–20 minutes, and the whole day can be structured as “park → viewpoint → lunch → short rest → evening walk by the sea.”

Day 3 — Jurmala Museum + the historic center of Majori + a long beach walk

  • 🏛️ Today is a cultural day without heavy physical strain. Start with Jurmala Museum: this is the best place to form a complete picture of how fishing settlements, summer-house culture, the sea, and the therapeutic resort tradition came together in the image of today’s Jurmala. It is a good way not just to “look at something beautiful,” but to understand why the city feels so special.

  • 🚶 After the museum, spend time in the quarters of Majori and head down to the beach. Combine short coffee stops with a 1–1.5 hour walk along the shore at a comfortable pace. The Baltic coast is beautiful precisely in a slow rhythm: the wide sky, silvery light, strict waterline, and sense of open space create a very pronounced reset effect.

Day 4 — Aspazija House in Dubulti + a quiet seaside day

  • 📚 Head to Dubulti to visit Aspazija House. It is one of the most atmospheric addresses in Jurmala: not a grand “big museum,” but a living cultural spot where literary memory, wooden summer-house architecture, and closeness to the sea create an almost intimate space. It is best not to rush: the journey itself, the surrounding area, and the road to the beach after the visit are an important part of the impression.

  • 🤍 After the museum, keep the second half of the day as light as possible. Walk to the dunes, spend time by the shore, and give yourself a long pause without a packed program. This day in a wellness trip is for the nervous system: Jurmala works well not only through activities, but also through well-structured intervals of silence, when you are not “completing” anything, but simply breathing in the sea and pine air.

Day 5 — Līvu Akvaparks or a spa day + a short evening walk

  • 💦 In the middle of the itinerary, it makes sense to have a day with warm water and physical relaxation. If you want a more active format, choose Līvu Akvaparks; if recovery is the real priority, it is better to devote the day to a hotel spa complex or individual treatments. The point of the day is not to get even more tired, but to give your muscles and joints gentle warmth and a change of pace.

  • 🛁 The golden rule: even if you choose the water park, don’t turn the day into a marathon of slides and noise. 2–4 hours is quite enough, then rest, a light dinner, and a short walk on the beach at sunset. After water treatments, the body especially enjoys the cool sea air and an early night.

Day 6 — Ragakāpa Nature Park + Jūrmala Open Air Museum

  • 🌿 Today head toward Buļļuciems and Lielupe: this is one of the most beautiful natural sections of the resort. In Ragakāpa Nature Park, the route passes among old pines, dune relief, and quiet trails where the sea is felt not only by sound, but also by the light between the trunks. For a wellness trip, this is almost an ideal combination: moderate walking, gentle terrain, natural shade, and a sense of natural isolation from the bustle.

  • ⚓ After the trail, stop by the Jūrmala Open Air Museum next to the park. It adds a human dimension to the nature day: fishing life, boats, coastal history, traces of old seaside living. Including the road and walks, plan 4–6 hours for this day in a relaxed format. If you are going from central Jurmala, a taxi or carsharing is the most convenient option; on site, it is best to move around on foot in short sections.

Day 7 — Ķemeri National Park + Great Ķemeri Bog Boardwalk

  • 🌾 This is the most “nature-therapeutic” day of the tour, but it should still remain gentle. From central Jurmala to the Ķemeri area, it usually takes about 25–40 minutes by car/taxi one way, so it is better to leave in the morning without rushing. The main goal is the Great Ķemeri Bog Boardwalk: a rare route where the landscape acts almost meditatively. Low pines, peat pools, an open horizon, moist air, and the wooden path create a feeling of distance from everyday life.

  • 🌤️ The ideal format is to walk the route without racing, with stops for photos and rest. Even if you are physically capable of more, do not pack the day with extra long walks. After the bog trail, you can add a short walk through Ķemeri Resort Park or simply have tea and return to the hotel for recovery. This day is not about quantity, but about depth of impression and a very pure sense of a natural pause.

Day 8 — Ķemeri Resort Park / farewell walk + departure

  • 🌳 It is best to keep the last day light. If your flight is later, you can choose one short outing: Ķemeri Resort Park with its calm resort history and green alleys, or your favorite section of the Jurmala beach near Majori/Dzintari. Do not overload the morning with too many stops: leave a good margin of time for packing, check-out, and the road to the airport.

  • 🚖 For the transfer from Jurmala to Riga Airport, it is reasonable to allow about 35–60 minutes, and a bit more during heavy traffic hours. A beautiful end to the trip is not “one more attraction,” but the feeling that you are leaving a place where your body truly slowed down: the sea, pine air, even walks, water, sleep, and the absence of sharp overloads have done their job.
