🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Varna: easy arrival, sea, and the Sea Garden

  • 🌊 It’s best to make the first day in Varna gentle and focused on simply absorbing the city without overload. After the flight, it’s convenient to check in, rest a little, and head to the Sea Garden — the city’s main family space by the sea. It’s not just a park, but a long green line between the city and the shore: shady alleys, playgrounds, sea air, benches, ice cream kiosks, and the feeling of a true resort start. For a child, this kind of day is ideal: no need to rush anywhere, you can simply walk, watch the ships, run along the paths, stop at viewpoints, and gradually ease into the rhythm of the holiday.

  • 🎠 Toward evening, it’s worth adding one or two short activities in the same area: a playground, the Ferris wheel, or mini rides if the child wants a “holiday feeling right away.” The important thing is not to plan a long program immediately after the trip: it’s better to save energy for the following days. The formula for the day is simple and works well for a family seaside holiday: transfer → rest in the room → walk in the Sea Garden → early dinner → sleep without overtiredness.

Day 2 — Varna: Dolphinarium + Zoo + calm evening by the sea

  • 🐬 This is one of the most child-oriented days of the itinerary. In the morning, it’s convenient to go to the Dolphinarium in the Sea Garden: the trip from central Varna is usually short, and the format is easy even for toddlers — a spectacular show, a marine theme, bright emotions, and the feeling of a real holiday. For children, this is a true “wow” day: there’s no need to explain for long what to look at, everything immediately works as an impression. It’s better to arrive in advance and not plan complicated logistics after the show.

  • 🦁 After a snack break, it makes sense to continue the day at Varna Zoo, which is also located in the Sea Garden area. This is a very convenient family combination without tiring transfers. The zoo works well for both preschoolers and younger school-age children: animals, birds, water, greenery, shaded paths, and a more relaxed pace than a large amusement park. Break the route into short segments of 45–60 minutes and be sure to include pauses. It’s best to leave the evening free: beach, promenade, juice, ice cream, and an early bedtime.

Day 3 — Varna: Aquarium + Planetarium + beach отдых

  • 🐠 The third day works well as a combination of “educational but not boring” and “sea for balance.” You can start the morning with the Varna Aquarium in the Sea Garden. It’s a compact, child-friendly place where the marine theme is easy to take in: fish, the life of the Black Sea, and the feeling of a journey into the underwater world. With small children, it’s comfortable to spend 45–90 minutes here without getting tired, and with older children you can stay longer if they like marine animals and themed exhibitions.

  • 🌌 After a rest and lunch, it’s interesting to add the Nicolaus Copernicus Planetarium — another unusual family stop in Varna. For children, this is a change of scale: sea and fish in the morning, then stars, space, and the feeling of a small scientific adventure in the afternoon. This kind of day is good because it doesn’t feel monotonous. And it’s best to give the second half of the day to the beach: swimming, sand, collecting shells, and free play without a rigid plan. These calm hours often become the happiest memories of the sea for children.

Day 4 — Sts. Constantine and Helena: thermal complex and Ecopark

  • ♨️ On the fourth day, it’s worth changing the city rhythm a little and heading out to the resort area of Sts. Constantine and Helena, which is located close to Varna. This is a very successful family outing without a long journey: by bus, taxi, or car, you can usually get there in about 25–35 minutes from central Varna, depending on your starting point. The main family advantage of this area is the combination of sea, greenery, and thermal infrastructure. If you want a “softer” day, you can focus on a water-based format: pools, warm water, comfortable relaxation areas, and a less chaotic environment than a large water park.

  • 🌿 In the second half of the day, the University Botanical Garden – Ecopark Varna is an excellent fit. It’s a spacious green place where children can walk a lot without feeling like they are being “taken through a museum.” It’s ideal for exactly a family walk: flowers, trees, open spaces, beautiful paths, viewpoints, sometimes a picnic-like mood, and a very pleasant pause after urban impressions. This kind of day is especially useful in the middle of the trip: it resets the nervous system of both children and adults.

Day 5 — Golden Sands: water park or a big beach finale

  • 💦 It’s best to make the final day the most “holiday-like” and festive. The optimal option is a trip to Golden Sands, where it’s easy to arrange a family day by the sea with an emphasis on entertainment. From Varna, the trip usually takes about 35–50 minutes by bus 409 or less by taxi/car. If the children love slides and water, it makes sense to choose the water park as the main event of the day. This is a format that almost always works without extra explanation: the children are engaged, the parents understand the plan, and the day feels like a bright finale to the trip.

  • 🏖️ If you want a more relaxed ending, Golden Sands is also great simply as a large family beach: wide sand, resort atmosphere, cafés, walking areas, and the feeling of a true seaside resort. You can structure the day as “half a day of activities + half a day by the sea,” and finish the trip with a calm dinner and a short family walk at sunset. It’s a beautiful and realistic ending to a 5-day itinerary without rushing or heavy transfers.
