🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Tuheljske Toplice and acclimatization at the “Water Planet”

  • 🏁 Check in to a hotel on the resort grounds. Do a “gentle start”: 30–45 minutes in the warm indoor pools, a warm shower, a light dinner. Let your body calmly “say hello” to the water’s mineralization.

  • 🌿 Walk along the alleys between the buildings and Mihanović Castle: an unhurried 20–30 minutes among manicured lawns and sculptures—tuning into the rhythm of Zagorje.

  • 🧘 First-day rule: no intense exertion/alcohol, drink plenty of plain water, and go to bed early—this boosts recovery.

Day 2 — “Water Planet” + Sauna World (light) + Kneipp

  • 💧 Morning at the “Water Planet”: gradual immersions in warm pools, open-air and indoor areas, hydromassage jets. Pace yourself: 10–15 minutes of bathing → 5–10 minutes of rest on a lounger.

  • 🔥 In the daytime—Sauna World in a gentle mode: Finnish/Bosnian/aroma saunas, 1–2 short sessions of 6–8 minutes, cooling down and rest. Finish with the Kneipp contrast path for vascular training of the feet.

  • 🍽️ In the evening—local Zagorje cuisine without heavy fried foods: štrukli, soups, seasonal vegetables. Sleep no later than 22:30.

Day 3 — Mini hike in the hills of Zagorje + Art&Spa

  • 🚶 Morning route from the resort along rolling paths between vineyards: 60–90 minutes at a “conversational pace” with a couple of photo stops at viewpoints. Bring hiking shoes—paths can be slippery after rain.

  • 🎨 In the daytime—the resort’s Art&Spa program: art objects in public areas, a relaxing massage for 30–45 minutes depending on how you feel. In the evening—a warm pool and silence.

Day 4 — Krapina: Krapina Neanderthal Museum + walk

  • 🏺 Trip to Krapina (≈ 20 km; 25–35 min by car). The Krapina Neanderthal Museum is one of the most impressive in the region: multimedia halls, a time spiral, and an exit to the Hušnjakovo archaeological slope.

  • ☕ After the museum—coffee in central Krapina and a short city walk. Return to the resort, 30 minutes in a warm pool to “close” the day.

Day 5 — Veliki Tabor: a hilltop castle + a taste of Zagorje

  • 🏰 Veliki Tabor Castle (≈ 20–25 km; 30–40 min by car): powerful towers, scenic courtyards, legends of Veronika of Desinić. The exhibits are easy to explore without rushing, with frequent breaks.

  • 🥂 On return—dinner at Mihanović Castle at the resort: regional classics, local wines. In the evening—Kneipp and a warm shower.

Day 6 — Kumrovec: open-air museum + Zelenjak

  • 🏡 Ethnographic “Staro Selo” Museum in Kumrovec (≈ 12–15 km; 15–25 min by car): a street of authentic Zagorje houses from the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, craft workshops, Tito’s birth house. An ideal “slow” day.

  • 🗿 On the way—a significant landscape at Zelenjak with the monument to the Croatian anthem “Lijepa naša”: a short trail, views over the Sutla River valley. Return to the resort and light pools before sleep.

Day 7 — Final SPA ritual and packing without rushing

  • 💆 Morning—your favorite combo: warm pool → 1 sauna session → Kneipp → tea/water. 60–90 minutes of calm relaxation.

  • 🎁 A stroll around the grounds, Zagorje souvenirs, an early lunch. Pack at an unhurried pace: lock in the wellness effect with sleep on the road and proper hydration.
