🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Sochi: Kurortny Prospekt, Sea Port, sunset on the promenade

  • 🚶 Start in central Sochi. Walk along Kurortny Prospekt — the city’s “main axis” lined with shady plane trees and Stalinist Empire architecture. Stop by the embankment near the Sea Station with its white arcades and yachts — here you can clearly feel the seaside elegance. Continue your walk through small parks to the Winter Theater and back to the waterfront: by evening the promenade comes alive with music, children’s carousels, and the scent of citrus. It’s a gentle introduction to the resort’s rhythm: sea, light, wind, and lazy cafés along the water.

Day 2 — Sochi: Art Museum and “architectural classics”

  • 🏛 Sochi Art Museum (Kurortny Prospekt, 51) — the building itself from the 1930s, with its colonnade, sets the tone of a “grand resort.” Inside: Russian art of the 19th–20th centuries, intimate exhibitions, and calm halls for unhurried viewing. Afterward, take a walk around the nearby blocks: palms and agaves in the city landscaping, open courtyards, cafés with sea views. In the daytime — an easy pace and fresh air; in the evening — back to the promenade for ice cream and the glow of lights on the water.

Day 3 — Sochi: the Arboretum and the cable-car “postcard view” of the city

  • 🌿 The Arboretum Park is the “green heart” of Sochi, with villas, cypress alleys, and a collection of subtropical plants. Take the funicular up to the upper park: a sea panorama cut through by cedar and palm crowns is one of the city’s best views. Walk down on foot along terraces with fountains, peacocks, and benches in the shade. The day’s format is a visual “reset”: lots of greenery, light and shadows, minimal hurry.

Day 4 — Sochi: “Stalin’s Dacha,” Matsesta, and tea time

  • 🏠 The “Stalin’s Dacha” museum on the slope above Matsesta is a rare chance to walk through historic interiors and see Sochi through the lens of 20th-century big politics. The road and surrounding forest add a sense of intimacy. After that, stroll around Matsesta with its balneological heritage and warm “Soviet resort” atmosphere. In the evening — tea in one of the tea houses overlooking the dark-blue sea: Sochi tastes especially good when the day ends slowly.

Day 5 — Adler and the Olympic Park: “spaces on a grand scale”

  • 🛼 Head down to Adler: the Imereti Lowland, bike paths, and the straight lines of the Olympic Park are a great contrast to the cozy squares of central Sochi. Ride scooters along the stadiums, drop into Sochi Park (if you’re with kids — it’s a guaranteed hit). Sunset by the Torch — wind, geometry, and vast open spaces where the city reveals a different side.

Day 6 — Adler: the aquarium and the seaside promenade

  • 🐠 Sochi Discovery World Aquarium in Adler features a long acrylic underwater tunnel, reef and marine life, and a convenient “family” format. Afterward, walk along the Adler promenade with cafés and relaxation areas, and have a leisurely seafood lunch. In the evening — easy logistics: return to central Sochi by the suburban Lastochka train or by bus to pack for your move to the mountains.

Day 7 — Transfer to the mountains: Krasnaya Polyana / Rosa Khutor

  • 🚆 In the morning — take the Lastochka to Rosa Khutor station: comfortable seats, views of the sea arc and the Mzymta gorge. Check in to a hotel on Lavanda Embankment: Alpine-style facades, the Town Hall bells, the rustle of the river. In the evening — get to know Rosa Square and the promenades: bridges, street musicians, rental-shop windows, soft mountain air. The finale — dinner with Caucasian spices and honey.

Day 8 — Rosa Khutor: lifts and “panoramas at 2320 m”

  • ⛰ The Olympia → Protected Forest → Stone Pillar cable cars: a cascade of lifts easily takes you up to a panorama of the Main Caucasus Ridge. At the top — trails, viewpoints, coffee with a view of the peaks. During the day, go down to the Rosa 1600 level for a calm walk in the mountain park. In the evening — a thermal complex or the hotel pool: your body will thank you for the elevation changes.

Day 9 — Rosa Khutor: the Archaeology Museum and the “river of time”

  • 🏺 The interactive Rosa Khutor Archaeology Museum on Rosa Square brings together finds from the Mzymta basin — from the Stone Age to modern times. The exhibition makes the mountain landscape feel “inhabited” through time. Afterward, take a slow walk along Lavanda: facades, slopes, the roar of water, photogenic angles. In the evening — a tasting set with local cheeses and honey.

Day 10 — Esto-Sadok and a “two-tier resort”

  • 🚡 A pleasant “logistics day without fuss”: the lower level (540 m) with shops and coffee houses and the “upper town” (960 m) are connected by cable cars. Choose an easy trail or viewpoint platforms; by evening — a bar with panoramas of the pink sunset. If you want activity — a cycling route, a ropes course, or rollerblading along the embankment.

Day 11 — Skypark AJ Hackett and the canyon above the Mzymta

  • 🌉 During the day — head to Skypark: a suspension bridge over the Akhshtyr Gorge, viewpoints and “adrenaline options” for the brave (bungee, zipline). Even without jumping, it’s a day of views and wind: mountains, the river below, karst walls, scale. In the evening — return to Polyana and a warm banya/sauna to “calm” your muscles after all the walking.

Day 12 — Back to the Sea: Free Time in Sochi

  • 🚆 In the morning — the “Lastochka” train back to Sochi (or bus 105/105S if you want to ride along the coast). Check in/return to the hotel and a “slow day by the sea”: the city beach, an aperitif by the waves, a short stroll to the evening lights of the port. A day “without plans” to gather impressions.

Day 13 — Riviera Park, Souvenirs, and “Little Discoveries”

  • 🎠 Riviera Park is an old Sochi classic: alleys, rose gardens, rides, and snack spots. Easy to combine with buying local products (churchkhela, honey, tea) and an unhurried lunch. In the evening — one more loop around favorite spots in the center: the Sea Port colonnades, the steps down to the promenade, lanterns, and the sea breeze.

Day 14 — Finale: Water, Light, and a “Farewell Dinner”

  • 🌅 End the trip the way you came to love this route: a short run by the sea, coffee on a terrace, a last stop at a museum/park, your favorite sunset spot. Dinner with a view — and an inner “gallery” of mountain peaks, suspension bridges, and the night water below. Sochi and Polyana are great on repeat — you’ll want to come back.
