🥾 DAY-BY-DAY ROUTE

Day 1 — Novosibirsk: pine trails of Zaeltsovsky Bor

  • 🥾 Dedicate the first day to a walk through the forested area of Zaeltsovsky District and the nearby dendropark alleys. This is a calm forest hike without technical sections: wide paths, gentle terrain, pine-scented air, and easy access from the city. The active part of the day is about 3–4 hours, distance approximately 8–10 km, elevation gain is minimal, difficulty is easy. The route is suitable for an average traveler without special gear: sneakers, water, and mosquito protection are enough. It’s best to go in the morning or closer to evening, when the light is prettier and there are fewer people. From May to July, it is important to keep ticks in mind; after rain, dirt sections may become soft, and in autumn the forest is especially beautiful in dry weather.

Day 2 — Novosibirsk: riverside walk by the Ob and Mikhailovskaya Embankment

  • 🥾 Today is an easy walk through a river landscape: embankments, viewpoints over the Ob, a breeze from the shore, and a long flat route without elevation changes. The active part is 2.5–3.5 hours, distance about 7–9 km, elevation gain is almost absent, difficulty is easy. This is not a wild hike but a gentle urban hike with a natural feel: water, wide sky, island views, and a good pace for acclimatization before longer outings. It suits beginners because transport, cafés, water, and the option to shorten the route at any moment are nearby. In spring it can be windy and chilly by the water, in summer it gets hot during the day with little shade, and after heavy rain some sections along the water’s edge are better bypassed on the improved paths.

Day 3 — Akademgorodok: Central Siberian Botanical Garden

  • 🥾 Transfer to Akademgorodok and a walk through the botanical garden make for a day of forest-park hiking among plant collections, the arboretum, and quiet paths. The active part of the day is about 4–5 hours, distance 7–10 km depending on which exhibitions are open, terrain is mostly gentle, difficulty is easy. Here it is convenient to combine a walking pace, stops at themed gardens, and rest in the shade. For an average traveler, the route is comfortable because it is a safe natural area with clear navigation and visitation rules. It is important to check opening hours and current rules on the official website in advance, because some exhibitions and entry zones may operate on a schedule. After rain the paths can be damp in places, and in the warm season tick protection again becomes relevant.

Day 4 — Akademgorodok: forest to the Ob Sea and Zvezda Park

  • 🥾 The day is devoted to a forest-and-shore walk: from Akademgorodok to the Novosibirsk Reservoir, through pine trails to the beach and viewpoint area of Zvezda Park. The active part is 4–5 hours, distance about 9–12 km, elevation gain is small, difficulty is easy or closer to moderate because of the length. This is a good route for an average traveler: no climbing, no difficult navigation, with the option of shortening the way back by taxi. Along the way there is pine forest, sandy sections, open water panoramas, and long sunset views. In summer the open shore can be hot and very sunny, so water, a hat, and sunscreen are important. If going by taxi or car, note that there is a paid entrance for vehicles into the park area.

Day 5 — Akademgorodok and ObGES: By the Ob Sea Park

  • 🥾 Today is a calm shoreline walk through the natural area of ObGES and the park “By the Ob Sea.” This route is about water, pines, sand, wide paths, and long coastal views. The active part of the day is about 3–4 hours, distance 6–8 km, terrain is flat, difficulty is easy. This kind of day is especially good as a recovery day after the previous longer walk: it does not require special fitness and allows plenty of rest by the shore. It is suitable for beginners thanks to the nearby transport and civilization. In windy weather it gets cooler by the water than in the city, and at the height of summer there may be many отдыхающих here on weekends. After storms and heavy rain, sandy sections by the water’s edge are better walked with caution.

Day 6 — Berdsk: Berdsk Spit and forest by the reservoir

  • 🥾 Transfer to Berdsk and a walk along forest and shoreline trails toward the Berdsk Spit and coastal sections of the Ob Sea. The character of the route is pine forest, beaches, sandy paths, and open viewpoints. The active part of the day is 3–4 hours, distance 7–9 km, elevation gain is minimal, difficulty is easy. For an average traveler, the route is convenient because it passes through a popular recreational area without dangerous places and without the need for special equipment. In summer, sun protection and a supply of water are especially important here, because part of the route runs along an open shore. In the shoulder seasons, strong wind from the reservoir makes it feel colder than in the city.

Day 7 — Berdsk: Berdsk Forest Dacha and forest leisure paths

  • 🥾 This day is a gentle forest hike through pine and mixed sections in the area of the Berdsk Forest Dacha, where it is pleasant to walk at a calm pace and recover before a longer outing toward the Salair side. The active part is 3–4 hours, distance approximately 8–10 km, elevation gain is almost absent, difficulty is easy. The route is suitable without special equipment because this is walking forest terrain, not a mountain trail. You can make short radial loops and return to base without fatigue. In spring and early summer, closed clothing and tick repellent are needed; after rain, some dirt clearings may be damp, and in winter part of this area is more convenient for walking only when there is stable hard-packed snow.

Day 8 — Maslyanino: easy walk after the transfer and scenic hills

  • 🥾 The transfer to Maslyanino takes a noticeable part of the day, so today it is better to choose a short walk around the nearby hills and viewpoints of the settlement. The nature of the walk is valley, low hills, river views, and quiet rural roads. The active part is 2–3 hours, distance 4–6 km, elevation gain up to 100–150 m, difficulty is easy. This is a realistic adaptation day: no long radial hikes, but with beautiful panoramas of the foothills of Salair. The route is good for an average traveler because it follows clear local roads and viewpoints without technical obstacles. After rain, dirt sections may be slippery, and in the cold season you need to keep early sunset in mind and not drag out the walk.

Day 9 — Maslyanino: Suenga Waterfall and a walk through the valley

  • 🥾 Today is one of the most scenic days of the route: a trip to Suenga Waterfall and a walk through a forest valley with river and rocky features. The active part is about 3–4 hours, distance 5–7 km with short approaches, elevation gain is small, difficulty is easy or moderate because of the uneven forest surface near the water. This is a route for an average traveler if you walk carefully and do not climb onto wet rocks: special equipment is not needed, but footwear with good grip is highly desirable. In the warm season it is especially beautiful here after the period of high water, and after heavy rains the approaches may be muddier than usual. The best time is the first half of the day, when the light is softer and there is less risk of returning at dusk.

Day 10 — Maslyanino: riverside walk and the suspension bridge in Suenga

  • 🥾 The day is devoted to a calm walk through the natural-rural landscape of Suenga: river, suspension bridge, viewpoints, and nearby valley paths. The active part of the day is 3–4 hours, distance 6–8 km, elevation gain about 100–200 m, difficulty is easy. This kind of route is suitable for beginners because there are no dangerous passes or rocky outcrops here, and the activity is easy to adjust according to how you feel. The main value of the day is the combination of landscape, the history of the old village, and beautiful views over the valley. In rainy weather, descents to the water may be slippery, and on the bridge it is better not to linger with a large group. In the cool season, bring a windproof layer: by the river and in open sections it gets noticeably breezy.

Day 11 — Maslyanino: forest walk toward spruce woods and quiet valleys

  • 🥾 This is a day of more secluded forest hiking over the gentle mid-mountain terrain of the Salair Ridge: spruce-birch sections, streams, damp hollows, and long green corridors. The active part is 4–5 hours, distance 8–10 km, elevation gain about 150–250 m, difficulty is moderate but without technical difficulties. The route suits an average traveler in good shoes and dry weather: there is no need for a helmet, ropes, or climbing skills. The main thing is to follow a clear trail or go with a local driver/guide to a convenient starting point. After rain the forest can be very wet, and in late autumn some sections become cold and slippery because of shade and early frost.

Day 12 — Novososedovo: Zveroboy eco-trail and Berd Cliffs

  • 🥾 The key hiking day of the whole trip: transfer to the Novososedovo area and follow the Zveroboy eco-trail to views of the Berd Cliffs and the Berd River valley. The active part of the route usually takes 2–3 hours; the eco-trail itself is known as short and accessible, about 2 km in its main section, but together with the approaches and the walk to the viewpoints it is convenient to plan for 4–6 km. Elevation gain is moderate, approximately up to 150–200 m, difficulty is easy or moderate. This is exactly the kind of nature walk that suits an average traveler: the route is popular, well known, with a clear direction and no need for special equipment. It is important not to approach the cliff edges closely, especially in rain and strong wind. In spring and autumn the trail may be slippery, and in peak season it is better to arrive early, while it is still cool and there are fewer people.

Day 13 — Toguchinsky District: Bugotak Hills

  • 🥾 Today is a different kind of landscape: the steppe and forest-steppe hills of the Bugotak Hills, where short ascents give wide panoramas. The active part is 3–4 hours, distance 5–7 km, elevation gain approximately 150–250 m in total, difficulty is moderate because of the open slopes and climbs, but technically the route is simple. It suits an average traveler without special equipment if you go in dry weather and do not try to descend steep crumbling slopes away from the trail. There is little shade here, so in summer water, a hat, and an early-morning start are especially important. After rain the grassy slopes become slippery, and during flowering season it is especially important not to leave the trail so as not to damage the rare steppe vegetation.

Day 14 — Novosibirsk: final easy-paced walk through a forest park

  • 🥾 It is best to make the final day easy and restorative: a short walk in one of Novosibirsk’s green areas — again a forest park, dendropark, or shoreline zone depending on the weather and departure time. The active part is 2–3 hours, distance 5–6 km, elevation gain is minimal, difficulty is easy. This kind of finish is realistic after a trip full of outings: you can walk calmly among the trees, breathe conifer-scented air, and leave extra time for the road to the airport or train station. Suitable for any traveler without special gear. If your flight is early or the weather turns bad, this day can easily be shortened without breaking the logic of the route.
