🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Prague → transfer to Liberec + an easy walk

  • ✈️ Arrival in Prague (PRG airport). A convenient way to get to Liberec with kids: trolleybus 59 from the terminals → Nádraží Veleslavín metro station (green line A) → transfer to the yellow line B to the final stop Černý Most → intercity bus to Liberec (usually 1h10–1h30). Coaches are clean; strollers are accepted. Build in extra time for transfers and a snack.

  • 🌆 Upon arrival in Liberec — check in and take a short walk to náměstí Dr. E. Beneše and Soukenné náměstí: fountains, street musicians, shop windows. In the evening — an early dinner and sleep: busy kid-filled days are ahead.

Day 2 — Liberec: iQLANDIA (for school-age kids) + iQPARK (for younger kids)

  • 🧪 iQLANDIA is a large science center with a planetarium: 500+ interactive exhibits, nitrogen shows, and “why” turns into “let’s try it!”. Plan 3–4 hours of active play and experiments. Nearby is iQPARK (in the same complex), aimed at ages 3–8: a water world, optical illusions, mini-labs. The day’s formula: active halls → lunch → calm zones so you don’t overload the kids.

Day 3 — Liberec Zoo + Botanical Garden

  • 🦁 Zoo Liberec is the oldest zoo in the Czech Republic: 170+ species, convenient loop routes, good playgrounds and cafés. Pick 6–8 key zones and take breaks every 60–90 minutes. After lunch — a short walk to the Botanical Garden: warm tropical pavilions, the “Pavilion of Prehistory,” huge cacti and carnivorous plants. Kids love hunting for the “weirdest” orchid and the unfurling “dinosaur fern.”

Day 4 — DinoPark Liberec (rooftop, year-round) + Papilonia butterflies

  • 🦖 DinoPark Liberec is the country’s only fully indoor dino park: a 4D cinema, a “paleontologist’s office,” a robo T-rex, and “living” adventures under a shopping mall roof. Great in rain/heat, easy to reach by public transport.

  • 🦋 Papilonia (Butterfly House) is a greenhouse with hundreds of exotic butterflies; kids get a memo on “how to wait for one to land on your hand.” A 30–45 minute visit is the perfect calm end to the day.

Day 5 — BABYLON entertainment center: water park + Funpark/Lunapark

  • 🌊 Aquapark Babylon features fantasy “steampunk” scenery, warm pools, kids’ areas, a lazy river, and family slides. No need to “marathon” it: it’s better in 60–90 minute blocks with breaks for snacks and rest.

  • 🎠 The indoor Funpark/Lunapark has carousels, trampolines, arcades. Agree in advance: “1–2 choices for the child + 1 shared one,” so purchases and rides don’t turn into an argument.

Day 6 — Ještěd Mountain: scenic trails and the Skalka chairlift (on schedule)

  • ⛰️ Ještěd is Liberec’s icon (the TV tower-hotel on the summit). In 2026 the České dráhy cable car to the top is closed for reconstruction; get there by tram No. 3 to Horní Hanychov and then on foot (a stroller works only for part of the route) or by the Skalka chairlift on operating days (usually weekends/holidays in the warm season). At the top — a panoramic view and a café.

Day 7 — North Bohemian Museum + “villas on Masarykova” + park

  • 🏛️ Severočeské muzeum is a beautiful historic building with kid-friendly exhibitions about nature, crafts, and the region’s history. After that — a walk along Masarykova: old villas, plane-tree shade, and just a step from the zoo and botanical garden. A picnic on the lawn is the best finale to a calm day.

Day 8 — Liberec Technical Museum + a big city playground

  • ⚙️ Technické muzeum Liberec has cars, motorcycles, tram artifacts, and “how it works” in one place. Great for curious school-age kids and parents. After that — free play at a playground or rollerblading/scootering in a nearby park.

Day 9 — Jablonec nad Nisou: “glass and Christmas ornaments”

  • 💎 The Museum of Glass and Jewelry is a rare collection: from Czech glass to the world’s largest public collection of glass Christmas tree ornaments. Kids love the “sparkling halls,” multimedia games, and searching for their favorite фигурка. Travel from Liberec by tram/bus takes 30–45 minutes: an easy half-day trip.

Day 10 — Český ráj: Valdštejn Castle + scenic trails

  • 🏰 Valdštejn Castle is a “stone bridge into a fairytale”: galleries, rocks, and viewpoints. Kids count the steps and look for “secret” niches in the rocks. Logistics: train/bus to Turnov (≈40–60 minutes) + a short ride/walk to the castle. Bring a snack and water: all around are forest trails you’ll want to linger on.

Day 11 — Bohemian Paradise: Šťastná země (family nature park)

  • 🛝 Šťastná země is a large outdoor kids’ nature park: wooden forts, giant sandpits, zip lines, barefoot trails. It’s a “rule-free play day” under parental supervision. Check the seasonal opening times; in summer it’s an ideal format for a full day.

Day 12 — More flexible: Urban Jump Arena + EKOPark

  • 🤸 Urban Jump Arena — trampolines and lanes with soft landings (book time slots). After an active hour, head to the “green” EKOPark: mazes, hammock zones, mini eco-games, and a “mud kitchen” for little ones. A balance of “burn off energy” and “calm down in the shade”.

Day 13 — Favorite places again: the child’s choice

  • ⭐ Go back to what they liked most: the water park again, the dino park, the zoo, or iQLANDIA. It’s good for kids to plan a “repeat” themselves — a sense of control and vivid memories. In the evening, pack without rushing.

Day 14 — Liberec → Prague → flight

  • 🚌 Transfer to Prague by bus (often from Černý Most) ≈1h10–1h30 + metro to Airport Trolleybus 59 (or a private transfer straight to the airport ≈1h30). Arrive at the terminal no later than 2.5–3 hours before departure when traveling with kids.
