⚡ DAY-BY-DAY ROUTE

Day 1 — Entrèves: glacier trekking near Mont Blanc with a certified guide

  • ⚡ The main activity of the day is a guided glacier hike / glacier walk only with a UIAGM mountain guide in the Skyway Monte Bianco area and the glacier panoramas of Mont Blanc. The starting base is Courmayeur and the Skyway station in Entrèves, from where visitors ascend into the high-altitude zone, known as one of the most spectacular and accessible places to discover the world of glaciers near Mont Blanc. The active part of the day usually takes about 4–6 hours including the ascent, briefing, and the walk itself along an officially organized route. The level is moderate, only with an instructor/guide; for an ordinary traveler, the suitable option is an introductory format rather than a mountaineering program. Safety here is ensured by the licensed Skyway cable infrastructure, official booking and accompaniment by UIAGM guides, mandatory briefing, and specialized equipment issued or checked before departure. Before booking, you should always check: whether the format suits the age and fitness level, whether insurance covers glacier hiking, whether altitude, heart issues, pregnancy, or a strong fear of heights may interfere, whether crampons/harness/helmet are included, where exactly the pickup point is, in which language the briefing is held, and what happens in wind, thunderstorms, poor visibility, or cable car closure. An important seasonal nuance: you cannot go onto the glacier on your own; in summer and shoulder seasons conditions change quickly, and the activity depends on the weather, snow conditions, and the guide’s decision. After the activity, it is better to keep the evening calm: dinner in Courmayeur and an early rest, because the first day brings strong impressions and altitude strain.

Day 2 — Val Ferret: an active day in the Mont Blanc valley with an e-bike or mountain trail in guided format

  • ⚡ On the second day, the route focuses on an active but gentler adventure format: a scenic e-bike / beginner-friendly mountain ride through Val Ferret or a mountain hike along the valley’s official trails with a local guide. This is one of Courmayeur’s best-known outdoor locations: the wide alpine valley at the foot of the Mont Blanc massif gives a feeling of real mountain adventure without the need for technical mountaineering. The active part takes around 3–5 hours depending on the chosen loop, rental, and weather. The level is for beginners or moderate; the e-bike is especially convenient for travelers who want excitement, beautiful views, and movement, but without excessive physical strain after the glacier day. Safety is ensured by the use of official rentals/operators, marked valley routes, a daytime format, straightforward logistics from Courmayeur, and the ability to return to base quickly. Before booking, check whether a helmet is included, whether an e-bike requires advance reservation, whether there are height and experience limits, whether a guide-led option is available, how the transfer or bus to the valley works, and whether traffic/parking regulations are in effect in Val Ferret on your chosen date. Seasonal nuances are especially important: after rain, dirt sections may be slippery; at the beginning of the season some higher trails may be wet or partly snow-covered; and at the height of summer it is worth checking valley bus schedules and access rules in advance. This day works well as active recovery: the adrenaline remains, but without a second heavy high-altitude activity in a row.

Day 3 — Dora Baltea: rafting with a licensed river center

  • ⚡ The final day is white-water rafting on the Dora Baltea River with an official rafting center in Valle d’Aosta, accessible from Courmayeur as a day trip. This is one of the most famous rivers in northwestern Italy for organized river adventure: glacial feeding creates a fast flow and vivid эмоions, but for travelers the safe format is specifically a team rafting trip with a professional guide, life jackets, helmets, and a mandatory briefing before the start. The active part of the day usually takes about 2–3 hours on the water plus travel and preparation, so overall it is a realistic full day without overload. The level is beginner-friendly in a classic commercial rafting trip, only with an instructor; it is better not to choose advanced formats if the goal is an intense but safe extreme tour. Before booking, be sure to уточнить: which exact river section and difficulty class are offered on your day, whether transfer from the center base, wetsuit, and footwear are included, whether there are restrictions by age, weight, swimming ability, and health condition, what the insurance covers, and what the rescheduling conditions are in case of high water or bad weather. A key seasonal point: the Dora Baltea is a snow-and-glacier-fed river, and the water level is usually higher in late June and early July, so the experience may be more intense, while the final decision on whether the group goes out always remains with the operator. After the rafting trip, it makes sense to return to Courmayeur or continue toward Aosta, but without trying to add another intense activity on the same day.
