🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Zagreb → transfer → Daruvar. First walk through Julije Park

  • 🏁 Arrival at Zagreb Airport (Franjo Tuđman). It’s convenient to take the shuttle to the central bus station and then an intercity bus to Daruvar. Check in to the chosen building of “Daruvarske Toplice” or a city hotel.

  • 🌳 Acclimatization walk: Julije Therapeutic Park (Julijev park) — the oldest spa park in continental Croatia. Level alleys, old plane trees and chestnuts, historic baths. 30–45 minutes at a conversational pace.

  • 💧 In the evening — a thermal-water pool in the complex (as you feel) and an early night: tomorrow we’ll start the program gently.

Day 2 — Check-up + light balneology

  • 🏥 Morning at “Daruvarske Toplice”: initial check-up, selection of treatments. The water is warm, thermal; the standard is pool/baths + a relaxation zone.

  • 🌿 In the afternoon — a walk through the Roman Forest (Rimska park-šuma): a short educational trail with 19 signs about nature and history, among shaded slopes by the springs. We keep it easy and take breaks on benches.

  • 🍲 Gentle meals, no heavy dinners: the goal is to “ease into” the course of treatments.

Day 3 — Treatments + Janković Castle and the city museum

  • 💆 Morning: prescribed treatments (hydrotherapy, thermal-water pool; massage/physiotherapy may be possible if indicated). After that — quiet time.

  • 🏛️ In the afternoon — the Baroque castle of Count Janković (Ivana Gundulića 1) and the Daruvar Local History Museum: the history of the resort, the city’s Czech heritage, exhibitions and a concert hall in the ceremonial enfilade.

Day 4 — Thermal relaxation + Aquae Balissae water park

  • 💧 Morning baths/pool in the thermal complex — a short session without overload.

  • 🏊 After lunch — the Aquae Balissae thermal water park (300 m from the center): indoor/outdoor pools, a “lazy river,” sauna area. Perfect for a “water” recovery day.

  • ✅ Day principle: 1 block of treatments + 1 water activity + rest. No marathons.

Day 5 — Park meditation + Czech brewing

  • 🌸 Morning: a “slow” photo walk through Julijev park — angles near the historic baths, rare trees, the quiet of the spa park.

  • 🍺 In the afternoon — Daruvar Brewery (the oldest in the country, Staročeško brand): a local gastronomic thread of Czech Daruvar. Tastings — in moderation, without “overdoing it,” so as not to interfere with the course.

Day 6 — Wine and views (an easy trip to the vineyards) + evening spa

  • 🍇 Daruvar Winery (Badel 1862): vines on the gentle slopes of Bilogora–Papuk; varieties — Graševina, Sauvignon, Riesling, Chardonnay. A tour with tasting — in the first half of the day and in small amounts.

  • 💧 In the evening — a warm pool, the contrast of “water/silence,” early sleep. This reinforces the balneo effect.

Day 7 — Finale: favorite park alleys + packing without rushing

  • 🌿 Repeat the nicest section of the route through Julije Park or a short loop in the Roman Forest. At the finish — 1 light water treatment.

  • 🧳 Packing and departure. Leave a generous time buffer: the trip to Zagreb by bus/car ≈ 2–3 hours + the airport.
