🧭 DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 — Arrival in Balkhash, check-in, and “first contact” with the lake

  • 🏁 Arrival from Almaty/Karaganda. Check in, do a light warm-up, and head to the city beach in Bertys Bay at sunset: the even shoreline, fine sand, and gentle breeze provide ideal “waterside acclimatization” without strain.

  • 🧘 Adaptation mode: 20–30 minutes of a calm walk along the promenade, an early dinner, minimal caffeine and alcohol. Sleep by 22:30 — tomorrow we start the “water routine.”

Day 2 — Morning swim + promenade and architecture

  • 💧 Sunrise swim for 10–15 minutes (as you feel) + “breeze therapy”: sit at the water’s edge, breathe deeply for 5–7 minutes. Then — a stroll along the shore and Abai Avenue.

  • 🏛️ By midday — the Metallurgists’ Palace of Culture named after Magaui Khamzin (32 Abai St.) and the quarters of “old Balkhash” — an intimate “culture without overload.”

  • 🍽️ Afternoon rest at the hotel (quiet hour 40–60 minutes). In the evening — a walk along the beach: sunsets over Balkhash are especially striking in clear weather.

Day 3 — Beach day: Bertys → the “AquaCo” beach section

  • 🏖️ Spend the morning at the city beach (the shoreline is gently sloping, convenient for safe entry). By lunch, shift focus to the “AquaCo” beach section — a clean sandy strip and calm water.

  • 🕶️ Day rhythm: 2–3 short sessions of 10–15 minutes of swimming with mandatory shade breaks; water + warm air = gentle vascular training.

Day 4 — Trip to Bektau-Ata: “lunar” landscapes without rushing

  • ⛰️ Early start (about 1–1.5 hours on the road from Balkhash). Bektau-Ata features granite domes, arches, smoothed boulders, and sparse steppe vegetation. “Photo-light” route: 1.5–2 hours of slow walking on flat sections at the foothills, without summit climbs.

  • ☀️ Return to the lake during the day, mandatory hydration. In the evening — a warm dinner and early sleep: tomorrow is a “sea” day again.

Day 5 — White Rock and recreation bases

  • 🏝️ Local trip to the “White Rock” area (north shore): calm beaches and panoramas of the water’s surface. A change of location refreshes and “reboots” perception.

  • 📷 Slow pace: 1 main waterside walk (40–60 minutes) + a coffee break at one of the recreation complexes.

Day 6 — Museum day + a light evening walk

  • 🏺 Balkhash Museum of History and Local Lore (12 Ualikhanov St.): the nature of the Balkhash area, the city’s formation, metallurgy, and life by the lake.

  • 🌅 Sunset on the promenade in Bertys Bay: a short 30–40-minute walk “at a conversational pace” and a final cup of tea by the water.

Day 7 — Finale by the water + packing

  • 💧 Short morning swim 5–10 minutes + breathing at the water’s edge. Walk your favorite stretch of shoreline once more — lock in the “bodily memory” of the lake’s rhythm.

  • 🎒 Pack without rushing. Transfer to the train station/bus station. If you’re leaving in the evening — add a calm lunch and 20–30 minutes of rest in the shade.
